The Musings of a Modern Day Mistress
She comes along,
She gets inside,
She makes you better than anything you've tried.
It's in her kiss,
The blackest sea,
And it runs deeper than you
Dare to dream it could be.
Wave goodbye,
To what you were,
The rules have changed,
The lines begin to blur.
She makes you hard,
It comes on strong,
You finally found,
The place where you belong.
Very introspective, but I'm taking this as a compliment from a very
special slave.
When thinking
changes
your mind,
That's philosophy.
When God changes your mind,
That's faith.
When facts change your mind,
That's science.
When I change your mind,
That's domination!
The papers and the news are still full of doom, gloom and New Year
diets (yuck)!
So possibly the best
way to banish the post Christmas blues, and the usual New Year's
resolution failures is to not read the papers, ignore the news,
forget trying to diet and remember that the secret of the
greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment of existence is: To
live dangerously!
Rumour has it that The Killers 'Human' is referencing a quote by H S Thompson, regarding the fact that
the US are breeding a generation of dancers instead of sportsmen ( I
guess, as he is a sports journalist). Despite researching said
journalists 'quotable quotes' I failed to find a single reference to it,
and having listened to the lyrics, because I love the song, I think
references to 'the platform of surrender' and being 'on my knees,
looking for the answer' means this song is about submission....... So
what are you? Human or dancer????
'Heaven is a place on Earth' was
playing on the radio when I opened the card with this poem inside....
In that deep and tranquil space,
There's nobody but you.
You're where I breath my oxygen,
you're where I see my view.
And when the world seems full of
noise,
my heart knows what to do,
It finds that deep and tranquil space
and dances there with you.
Beautiful and very special - Thank
you Mi camino...
Please could all the media and
politicians stop feeding us recession stories? All they are doing is
creating a self fulfilling prophecy - just like the one below which
illustrates just how the markets work!....
The chief of a Native American
tribe was asked in the autumn if the winter was going to be cold or
mild. Being a 21st-century chief he had no idea, but said that it
was going to be cold and told the people in his village to collect
wood.
A few days later he rang the National Weather Service. "Yes,
it is going to be cold," they told him, so he went back to his
people and told them to collect more wood.
A week later he called again. "Is it going be a cold
winter?" he asked. "Yes, very cold."
So he went back and told his people to collect every bit of wood
they could.
Two weeks later he called again. "Yes," he was told,
"it is going to be one of the coldest winters ever."
"How can you be so sure?" the chief asked.
The weatherman replied: "The Native Americans are collecting
wood like crazy."
"Normal is getting dressed in
clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car
that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to
pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all
day so you can afford to live in it". (Ellen Goodman)
On that basis who wants to be
normal?????
Yesterday was beautiful and sunny,
today is overcast and gloomy. Yesterday I was feeling inspired, today
I am not - what a difference the sun makes! I found this poem whilst
looking through my little book of inspirational 'stuff'. So often our
lives follow the same routine and pattern, and we constantly find
ourselves making the same choices, even though we know they are not
right for us. Sometimes you just have take a deep breath, and make
conscious choice to do something different, and take responsibility
for your own destiny, where ever it may take us, and with whom ever it
be, and not simply follow the crowd and it's conventional 'wisdom' -
after all look what happens to lemmings.......
AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN FIVE SHORT CHAPTERS
by Portia Nelson
I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost ... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes me forever to find a way out.
II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place
but, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in ... it's a habit.
my eyes are open
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
V
I walk down another street.
My beautiful and devious assistant,
angel, has pointed out to me that suspicious partners sometimes "google"
telephone numbers to find out to whom they belong. I have, therefore,
instructed my webslave to obfuscate my number to prevent search
engines from finding it. This will enable me to keep my description of
"beyond discrete"! It will be interesting to know how long
it will take for the search engines to forget my number!
Whilst examining the contents of the box containing my new cat flap I
came across an interesting booklet. A "user guide"...... the
only challenge that remains is how to teach my cat to read it!
I came across this amusing quotation
attributed to Elmo Phillips the other day and felt it worthy of sharing:
"You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get
older. Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged
woman. Stuff you pay good money for later in life."
My thanks to a new slave for this rather beautiful
Sonnet:
To
My
Lady
Trinity
This
slave
prepares
to
serve
you
and
to
please
His
Mistress:
naked,
humbled,
on
his
knees.
He
longs
to
satisfy
and
please
you
‘til
He
bends
himself
to
your
sadistic
will.
He
will
be
yours
to
punish,
torture,
use
For
your
delight.
A
plaything
that
you
use
To
whip,
to
clamp,
electric
shock
and
cane.
In
slavery,
in
suffering,
in
pain.
My
Lady,
you
I
promise
to
obey
To
honour
and
revere
in
every
way
By
my
submissiveness
revealed
will
be
The
dominance
of
Lady
Trinity.
So
Lady,
soul
and
body
I
commit
To
serve
you.
To
adore
you.
To
submit.
"There are two things a real man likes, danger and
play. That is why he likes women, they are the most dangerous of all
play things."
*Nietzche*
My thanks again to Ededas for sending me another interesting quote!
The Guardian prides itself on targeting the well
educated - but recently proved itself to be sadly lacking in its
knowledge of English language. It defined the word URTICATE as
"to beat with a whip" whilst those of us who are better
informed (or experienced!) know that it means to sting or whip with
nettles!
Sexual Desire, Domination, Submission.... and Opera
An Evening with Lady Trinity and Sapphire
Well - sapphire and I did go to the ball - or rather the opera
courtesy of a suitable submissive who will remain nameless for obvious
reasons.............
The opera was excellent - I would recommend it should it ever be
repeated as alas it's run is now over. We caused quite a stir - but
really -
what do they expect one to wear when one attends an opera such as 'The
Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant'?
Just because my beautiful forties style cocktail dress was made of
pink rubber, and sapphire was wearing her collar and lead
(to ensure we didn't get separated in the crowd!), we attracted quite a
lot of attention - luckily all of it favourable - it was amazing the
number
of ladies who came up and asked where our outfits came
from............
It reminded me of another time when I went to see 'Saucy Jack and the
Space Vixens' (a fetish musical) wearing a full length rubber
skirt and a metal bra. One of the support cast, who was from Madame JoJo's, called me 'the
lady with the titanium tits'. I wish! I didn't have the heart to say
that they were actually
polished mild steel.................
We are now planning our outfits for our next formal outing - Ladies
Day at Ascot...............
The thoughtful souls at Reading Borough Council have
placed a preservation order on the woodlands surrounding my chambers. This covers not only the Ash,
Oaks, Willow and Elder trees but also the URTICA DIOICA!
For the uninitiated, these are the Stinging Nettles!
Here's a little poem
from my childhood that somehow crystallises some of today's more
unfortunate attitudes. I would be interested to hear if any of you have
heard it before and if anyone knows of it's origins.
My father taught it to me and I have never heard it anywhere else.
Across the open
moorland, the rain was falling fast,
and through the dripping heather, a Goblin hurried past.
His eyes were small and cunning, his hair was very red,
and he had a green umbrella which he held above his head.
"Oh please will
you allow me?" a tiny fairy cried,
"To share your green umbrella by keeping at your side?"
"GOOD GRACIOUS!" said the Goblin, "cannot you plainly
see,
that under my umbrella, there's only room for ME!"
The Bakerloo line is not exactly a stimulating place to be, especially
when one is crushed against a lot of unhappy commuters. I did, however,
feel inspired enough to write this poem:
The yearning begins with a vision
A goddess, leather, latex and lace
Whose endless legs you recognise
from troubled dreams, her face.
And eyes draw you, to break free
from the shackles of vanilla life.
But the weeks slip by unnoticed
as you pace within a cage, moral rife.
There is nothing wrong with that inner call.
Answer it and your spirit will be grown.
But leave it too long and the light will go out,
and you'll pass by, never known.
Trinity
For the literati amongst you, a test on English grammar!
Rewrite this phrase with the correct punctuation:
WOMAN WITHOUT HER MAN IS A SAVAGE

I am beginning to wonder whether my
title for this section is appropriate ............
I considered myself to be a fairly
modern thinking Mistress, and used to use as a strap line a rather poignant
motto thus:-
'Work like you don't need the money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
and dance like no-body's watching'
It was bounced back to me
by a rather maverick friend of mine as this: -
'Love like you need the money,
Dance like it hurts,
and work when someone is watching.'
Perhaps I am more of a Renaissance Mistress
after all!
"Man is the one who desires, woman the one who is desired.
This is woman’s entire but decisive advantage.
Through man’s passions, nature has given man into woman’s
hands,
and the woman who does not know how to make him her subject,
her slave, her toy, and how to betray him with a smile in the end
is not wise."
Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch (1835–1895), Venus in Furs (1870)
Thanks to Tim for sending that gem to me.

Well,
of course, the correct punctuation is: WOMAN, WITHOUT HER, MAN IS A
SAVAGE. For those of you who said it was "Woman without her man,
is a savage", shame on you! Perhaps you were hoping I will be
savage with you! Click
here to go back up.
